The Image ofthe Twentieth Century Man in To S.Eliots Poem The Hollow Men

This research is based on the portrait of modern man as depicted by T.S Eliot in his poetry. Prufrock, Sweeney Gerontion and other characters described as the hollow men in Eliots poetry are the best representation of this picture. It also deals with the crises of modern man and modern life in general and how meaningless it turned to be without religion and without faith in God. The reason behind selecting such a topic is because of the futile modern life which may have similar characteristics to the life of those western people , and to call people to strengthen their relation rvith God in order to gain peace of mind . The research is divided into three parts with a conclusion , the first part is about life and uork of the gr:.1i poet, critic ar-rd dramatist , T.S. Eliot , while the second part is devoted to give a brief idea about the modern life and its problems; finally, the third part is for Sweeney and others as a sample of manlother lives in such a waste land as this age .
