This study was achieved to assess further the association of the blood gases analysis BGA between pneumonia and others with a nonpneumonia airway obstruction preschool children. Twenty five patients aged (2 – 24 months)with acute pneumonia and another twenty children in the same age with acute respiratory symptoms due to cracking accidents, muscular contractions, epilepsy, neurological congenital defects, asthma, or any causes not related to pneumonia disease were enrolled in our study. A strip method was employed and the arterial blood samples injected into the BGA instrument by a syringe to determine the level of pH, paO2, paCO2 and SatO2 In all children, BGA was performed within 12 hours following admission to the emergency
