The researcher has noticed, by exarnining the situation of plastic art and artists in Al-Samawa city, that the topic of Masters of plastic artists in Al-Samawa city has not beer* dealt with thoroughly and there has been a kind of indifference towards this subject. There has not been enough attention given to the plastic artists to follow up their roles in the previous periods: there are some who have passed away without collecting and maintaining or even photographing their paintings which should have been documented in special archives as part of the city's history. The researcher, therefore, has followed the method of historical research and the use of informal interviews with artists except those who are dead or living abroad. For those the researcher has depended on the method of interviewing their friends, colleagues and relatives and has collected what has beetfwritten about them in magazines and newspapers
