The Ottaman state failed to base its foundatian on religion and thes it was farced to depend on the ethnic group for that purpose . That kind of feeling prevailed as a result of the Armenian question which caused much worry to the international diplomacy since Berlin carference in 1878 . That feeling also dominated because of the Armenian areas . This caused cantinous objection and demand for constitutional reforms in the ottoman rule . This , in turn , obliged the sultan to promise of introducing these reforms according to Article 61 of Berlin Treaty . But insteal of inhoduuing the refew, sultan Abd Al . Hameed massacred the Arumenians in the period of 1894-1896 without paying attention to his promises in Berlin ceference . He looked at the Armeniaes as other Bulgars who should be illuminated and for that purpose he formed AL-Hawidi kuights by which he wauted to punish the disobediemts and to suppress the mutineers as he pretnded . This , the Arwemian question chauged after Berlin conference from being an internal Ottoman problem to an international question . this led to intervention of the European states in the internal affairs of Ottoman states . Therefore, the Armenan question was a direct reason of collapse of the Ottoman state .
