The word “shahnama” in Persian means “the kings book“. This means the book which talks about the kings and their glorious deeds which are a source of pride for their peoples. AL_shahnama is a patriotic epic. The Persian poetry, which is rich of patriotic poetry, is worldwide literature. This research deals with the story of “Rustum” and “ Isfindyaar”. It is One of AL- shahnama stories. The poet “ Abu ALQasim Alfardoosi explained the struggle between “Rustum ibn Dastan“ and “isfndyaar ibn Gashtasp” this struggle ended when “ Rustum” killed “ isfindyaar” and his sons . this research also shows the brief story of the life these tow heroes on the level of the litrerary criticism. The two main elements of this study are the plot and the events. The two researchers concluded the perfection the plot and the events according to the poetic examples in this story . In this way,they achieved the two most important elements in the modern literary criticism.
