This is a comparative study in two bibliographers' methods of Arab bibliographers in the last century : Elian Sarkis and Dr. Afif Abdul Rahman. One of them was in 1920s and the other was in 1990s . we preferred to select their two books because the first one represented the bibliography (the general classification) of the Arabic issues (the written and the translated) at his age , while the bibliography of the second was for a specific topic , I.e. pre-Islamic literature and what as written about it in the Arabic studies and in other languages. Both bibliographers chose the general approach with multi titles as their method in classification. For long library experience , the first Sakis Al-Dimashqi was more to the books titles and their topics as well as a brief biography of the author and the printing place and date, which is an international style followed in bibliography , where as the second one repeated the titles of the books and researches on the way of the public libraries and was far from summarizing in the bibliography as well as the readers' loss among the subtitles of the topic or the book itself. The reference will be focused on their precedence in modern classification not forgetting that Sarkis was recorded in the unified Arab encyclopedia with his work (Jami'I Al-Tasaneef).
