Building on the functioning of natural ecosystems (biological), industrial ecology aims to limit the impact of economic activity on the environment and support the transition of the current industrial society to the operating modes moresustainable. Contrary to the current economy,qualified as linear, which on one hand, depletes natural resources and on the other, accumulating waste; industrial ecology considers waste as a reservoir of raw materials to be exploited. This leads to doubting about the current patterns of production and consumption. This article essentially aims to highlight the contribution of the theoretical framework for understanding the industrial society as a natural ecosystem for the rational management of resources and optimal use of waste.
