Optimization of Poly Hydroxy Butyrate (Bioplastic) Production by Koccuria rhizophila IRK1 Isolated From oil contaminated soil

We investigated optimization of poly (3-hydroxy butyrate)(PHB) production by Koccuria rhizophila IRK1 in batch culture system. Various batch experiments were carried out at different carbon source concentrations [Glycerol at 0.1-0.03% (w/v)], Phosphorus source concentrations [KH2PO4 at 0.01-0.03% (w/v)] Nitrogen source concentration [NH4CL at 0.02-0.06%(w/v)] and temperatures [37,40,43 0C]. Inthese experiments,optimum conditions production of PHB were determined using the Taguchi method. The results showed the highest PHB production by Koccuria rhizophila IRK1 (65.12% of cell dry weight) is 7.3 and this space has a high ability for synthesis of PHB from glycerol
