Abstract- In the present research, results of triaxial tests on fiber reinforced sand mixed with Portland cement,
hydrated lime and gypsum as cementing agents were compared. The cement content was 3% (dry wt.) of sand. Also
fibers 0.012 m in length and 23 μm thick were added at 0.0%, 0.5% and 1.0% (dry wt.) of the sand cement mixture.
Samples were prepared at 70% relative density. Samples with Portland cement and hydrated lime cured for 7 days
in humid room and constant temperature of 40 °C, respectively and samples cemented with gypsum cured for 24 hr
in a constant temperature about 50 °C. Although, cement type influences energy absorption significantly in
unreinforced sand, results of present study indicates the same energy absorption potential for hydrated lime and
gypsum cemented fiber reinforced sand. The most energy absorption potential was recorded for the fiber
reinforced soil cemented with Portland cement.
