A Novel Method for Reducing Phase Errors in Multiphase LC Oscillators

This paper provides a new method to reduce phase errors in multiphase LC oscillators. The coupling stagesʹ tail currents are used as the key parameters to reduce phase errors.For this purpose a mathematical approach is used to find a relationship between every stageʹs phase error and the couplingfactor that can reduce it. Mismatches between LC tanks of each stage are considered as the main source of phase errors. The theoretical results are evaluated and verified through simulationusing ADS software. The results all show the ability of the proposed method to reduce phase errors.
