Study of Aggregation behavior of surfactants in mixed solvents by canonical monte carlo simulation technique

Monte Carlo simulations of a three-dimensional lattice model of an amphiphile-solvent system are presented and examined for their usefulness in predicting self-association of amphiphiles in solution. The simulation results indicate that the effects of the lengths of the solvophobic and solvophilic sections of the alcohol on critical micelle concentration also aggregate size. The aggregation behavior of surfactants in mixed solvents composed of water and alcohol is predicted using an extension to our model of aqueous surfactant solutions.
