Abstract- This paper discusses on the FEM simulation of Discontinuous fiber reinforced composites (DFRC) rotor in the framework of linear elastic theory. Based on the Halpin-Tsai equations for aligned DFRC, micromechanical model of DFRC are developed. Hence, FEM simulations are performed by implementing the Halpin-Tsai equations in the commercial FS code, ABAQUS. The DFRC rotor consists of three blades and a hub and its material is composed of MJ40 short carbon fibers and epoxy resin. The sensitivity of analysis has been studied carefully considering the effect of centrifugal and aero-dynamical loads obtained by CFD analysis. It is observed that, stress field in the rotor not only depends on the geometry of short carbon fibers but also it distributes in lower values compared with aluminum rotors. Keywords - , , -,
