In this project, the coating of the paper manuscript has been studied. This manuscript is a nastaliq calligraphy written By Mahmood Ebn Abelqasem Khansari. The paper Manuscript, has a cloth support that dated 1322 AH. It has 21.7cm width and 648.3cm length and is maintained in Isfahan Decorative Arts Museum. In this Article the varnish used on this Manuscript was examined. Wet chemical and instrumental methods were used to identify the varish of Manuscript. It was showed concluded that the origin of coating (varnish) is linseed oil.
