A wide spectrum of engineering-based research was performed in order to improve Iranian Gas Turbine, IGT25, system performance and reliability. Since these turbines are recently introduced, the CMMS data gathering period is no longer than 3 years. The gathered data is modified and processed by statistical methods and implemented in Fault Tree Analysis to perceive the current reliability status. It is targeted reliability values to satisfy the requirements of plant owners aiming to maximize productivity and lower downtime; central to this objective is avoiding unexpected breakdowns. It has been culminated in upgrades of the gas turbine after modification in system design and other improvements, leading to a reduction in severity of effective failure modes and remarkable enhancement in reliability and availability indices. Reliability is upgraded almost 1.2 percent and availability raised 2.3 percent. These attempts would be viable without considering logistic issues.
