In today’s competitive environment, the management of hazardous facilities to ensure safe and cost effective operation is high on the corporate plan. The market demands consist performance in presenting safe and efficient operation during complying with regulation and legislation. To analyze the dispersion of release flammable and toxic materials, there are different models such as PHAST, SLAB, DEGADIS and ALOHA, but based on consequences, conditions and observations of leak in pressure vessel (Contain: propane at temperature of -44 ◦C and pressure of 24 bar) which is in service at Fajr Jam Refinery is investigated using PHAST software. The aim of this paper is to assess the safety distances which shall be applied in Fajr Jam Refinery. For this purpose, jet fire scenario is modeled to analyze minimum distance between pressure vessel and fire zone such as gas unit train for safe distance from each other. The results show that by increasing wind speed, the minimum distance between condensate storage tank and fire zone will decrease.
