A design of a compact, easy to fabricate and
applicable rectangular waveguide TM11 to TE10 mode
converter is presented in this paper. The structure is divided
into two steps in sequence. The beginning one, is
transformation from TM11-to-TEM using a central conductor
to provide TEM mode and the following transformation is
TEM-to-TE10 by loading a dielectric into the waveguide as an
180o phase shifter in order to get TE10 dominant mode at the
end of the waveguide. Simulation results are presented and
the structure has the advantage of high efficiency of above
90%.
