Many researches have been done to find a suitable method to classify the remote sensing data. Traditional classification methods are all pixel-based, and do not utilize the spatial information within an object which is an important source of information to image classification. Instead of pixels, pixel groups and object based methods offer the suitable approaches to classify remote sensing data. In this research the maximum likelihood as a pixel based method and object based classification method are used to classify remote sensing data from an agricultural region in Biddinghuizen -The Netherlands.Also the results of this study are evaluated and compared
