One of the most important alternatives for the production of transparent conductive electrodes are conductive polymers, especially PEDOT:PSS. The poly-electrolyte structure in this polymer improves the solubility, but on the other hand, the polymeric conductivity is severely restricted and the film forming process on hydrophobic surfaces gets difficult. In this study, for enhancing conductivity and simultaneously maintaining film forming properties, we used CuBr2 salt in DMSO solvent and non-ionic surfactant in PEDOT:PSS solution. We were able to increase conductivity up to 1100 S/cm by this novel treatment which is one of the best results reported for PEDOT:PSS conductivity without any post treatment. In addition by adding this novel mixture, film forming on hydrophobic surfaces such as glass and PET improved.
