This study investigates how language is employed in shaping ideology as well as changing social reality. In this regard, CDA takes a particular interest in the relationship between language and power and ideological manipulation. The present study applied a framework of CDA by Hodge and Kress (1996) for analyzing political protest texts. On this account, 15 protest poems of Bob Dylan translated by M. Azad and Saeed Tavakoli Parsan were selected to duly analyze from the point of syntactic, lexical and semantic features. Accordingly, each selected poem have been studied as a whole and carefully compared to its corresponding Persian translation. Arguably, context of source text is very important for analysis. Then they analyzed line by line based on this framework. In this respect, text analysis was done through process and product oriented. To sum up, the finding of this research corroborated the fact that how a single reality can be presented and viewed entirely differently by different people having a range of religious and political perspectives
