Fuzzy Economic Dispatch for Power Systems Integrated with Wind Power Generation

Large scale wind farms have a high growth in the world in the recent years because of their economic and environmental benefits. In the other hand wind power integration have serious challenges in both planning and operation concepts. The main challenges in this way are uncertainty and variability of wind farm output which needs to develop the new power system analysis routines to overcome these challenges. In this paper a fuzzy approach for economic dispatch problem solution in the presence of large scale wind farms is presented. In the proposed model, output generation of each wind farm is denoted by a fuzzy number. Then by using the arithmetic relation of fuzzy numbers, the economic dispatch problem is formulated. In this approach the optimal generation of each thermal unit is a fuzzy number instead of a crisp number.
