Some studies showed that there is a relationship between spinal deformity and psychological characteristics. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between upper cross syndrome and some psychological characteristics. The study popultaion consisted of 130 adult men, with the mean age of 26.66±4.24 years, weight 74.36±9.67 kg, height 175.94±5.76 cm, that volunteered to take part in this study. In order to assessment of kyphosis , a flexible ruler as a non-invasive and reliable method were used and for Forward shoulder and Forward head angle, Photos of each Subjects were examined in sagittal plane. The psychological characteristics was measured by the SCL 90 R questionnaire. To evaluate the correlation between variables, pearson correlation coeffeciant statistics with SPSS software version 22 have been used. The results showed that there was a correlation between Somatization and subjects forward head posture (p 0.05). However, there were no significant relationship between another variables. According to the results of present study it can be said that there was a significant relationship between psychological characteristics and forward head posture but no significant relationship among other variables. These findings may help us to beter understanding of psychological characteristics relationship with correction and prevention of postural deformities. This research area is fruitful and lots of studies needed to exact understanding of psychological characteristics effects on postural deformities.
