STATISTICAL INFERENCE ON SCALE PARAMETER OF THE UNIFORM DISTRIBUTION BASED ON EXTREME RANKED SET SAMPLING

The problem of estimating the scale parameter of the uniform distribution is considered. We estimate the parameter based on Extreme Ranked Set Sampling (ERSS) and compare its variance to the variance of Uniformly Minimum Variance Unbiased (UMVU) estimator based on Simple Random Sampling (SRS). The results show that the estimate based on ERSS is more efficient than the one based on SRS.
