بناهايي كه به دست انسان ساخته مي‌شود، جلوه‌هايي از نگرش او به جهان هستي است كه مبين قوه فكري و ساختار فرهنگي ـ اجتماعي افراد آن جامعه است. نگاه به مقوله معماري جدا از نگرش فرد ( طراح و مخاطب ) نسبت به هستي نيست .معمار مسلمان همچون همه مكاتب فكري كه بي شك مفهوم انسان كامل در ميان آثار هنري اش متجلي مي شود، در معماري اسلامي در پي آن بوده تا بناي خود را به انسان كامل نزديك كند و شكلي از باطن انسان كامل بسازد. معماري اسلامي، تجلي نمادين جهاني ابدي و ازلي است كه اين جهان را محلي گذرا و واسطه‌اي براي رسيدن به مرتبه‌اي والاتر به منظور وصول به آرامش دروني مي‌داند .معماري اسلامي كه به صورت‌هاي گوناگون در بناهاي مختلف متجلي گشته، جايگاه خاصي را داراست كه در آن، جهان بيني يك مسلمان، نوع انديشه و باورهايش نمود بارزي دارد.در اين تحقيق بر مبناي دو اصل تعادل و محرميت در جهانبيني مسلمان به بررسي و ارائه معماري اسلامي در طراحي داخلي مسكن پرداخته شده است.
