در اين تحقيق به بررسي معايب اعضا سازه‌اي كارخانه ذوب مجتمع مس سرچشمه پرداخته شده است. از آنجا كه بيش از سي سال از ساخت اين مجموعه گذشته، با توجه به شرايط بهره‌برداري (حركت جراثقال، محيط آلوده به گازهاي مخرب، توسعه مجموعه و...)، لزوم بررسي مجدد مقاومت اسكلت سازه‌اي و سلامت اعضا اين كارخانه الزامي به نظر مي‌رسد. از اين رو، در مشاهدات عيني انجام شده، معايب سازه‌اي از قبيل باز شدن، تخريب، اعوجاج، كمانش و خوردگي عضوهاي سازه‌اي و مقايسه آنها با as built نقشه‌هاي سازه‌اي موجود انجام گرفت. همچنين مدل‌سازي كارخانه ذوب مجتمع در نرم‌افزار SAP2000 و تحليل نيرويي، جابجايي المان‌هاي سازه‌اي (تير، ستون، بادبند و ورق‌ها)، صورت گرفت و نقشه‌هاي سازه‌اي كارخانه ذوب مجتمع مزبور تهيه گرديد. طي چندين مورد بازديد از مجتمع و تطابق نقشه‌هاي مدل‌سازي سازه‌اي تهيه‌شده با سازه موجود، عيوب و نواقص سازه مشخص گرديد. با بررسي خروجي‌هاي نرم‌افزار و تحليل نيرويي مشخص شده كه سازه كارخانه در مقابل بارهاي جانبي دچار ضعف مي‌باشد، همچنين تعدادي از بادبندها، تير و ستون‌ها نياز به تقويت و مقاوم‌سازي دارد.
