Clinoptilolite is a natural zeolite which is known for its low price. Clinoptilolite is vastly used in many applications such as catalyst, wastewater treatment and filtration. The aim of this work is to modify the zeolite which causes higher ion exchange and increment in the acidity and BET surface area. Moreover, modification and subsequent ion exchange effectively increases the pore diameter that leads to easier access to active sites. Modification on Clinoptilolite was conducted by two different acids, in different concentrations. The modified Clinoptilolite was characterized by XRD, FE-SEM and BET analysis.
