A simple and efficient method is employed to improve the activity of Pt/C nanocatalyst for ethanol oxidation reaction using electrodeposition of Co nanparticles on commercial Pt/C nanocatalyst. The morphology and structural properties of the prepared nanocatalyst are studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements revealed the better performance of the modified catalyst compared to pure Pt/C catalyst.
