In this work the influence of ultrasonic waves on freezing temperature of water and promoting the nucleation of ice in deionized water is investigated. Moreover, the experiments are carried out on Tetra Hydro Furan (THF) in stainless steel cell under atmospheric pressure to induce hydrate formation without using mixer. The effect of the ultrasound (25 KHz frequency) on freezing temperature and induction time of THF Hydrate formation could be analyzed in different power waves. The result showed that the nucleation temperature and induction time of hydrate formation and water freezing would be affected by initial temperature of solution. Evaluation of using ultrasonic wave indicated that applying ultrasound irradiation increase freezing temperature of water and decrees induction time. However, longer irradiation time, indicate opposite effect because of generation heat during test. In conclusion, the ultrasound can be used as a means to control the induction time of hydrate formation and crystallization process. However, optimum conditions to irradiation should be selected.
