Supercritical CO2 extraction is the process of separating a solute from a solid matrix. In some cases, the addition of a small amount of a cosolvent can enhance the solubility of the solute in the supercritical CO2. In this work, the Peng-Robinson (PR) equation of state was used for prediction of the solubility of anthracene, phenanthrene, and aspirin in the supercritical CO2 added with ethanol and methanol as cosolvents for the temperature range of 313 to 333 K and pressure range of 100 to 300 bar. The binary interaction coefficients of the studied systems were determined using the experimental data available in the literature. The aver-age absolute relative deviation (AARD) of 3.77% in the sol-ubility estimation demonstrates that the Peng-Robinson equation of state is an appropriate model for the estimation of the effect of cosolvents in the supercritical extraction.
