Graphene oxide with high density of oxygen functional groups has been applied as adsorbent for the removal of organic pollutants, such as pesticides, pharmaceuticals, dyes, and natural organic matters. Tricyclazole is a fungicide that is commonly used to control rice blast disease. In this research graphene oxide nano-particles prepared via Tour method and then was used for removal of Tricyclazole from aqueous solution. In order to compare, a commercial grade of graphene oxide was used as a standard probe. The synthesized graphene oxide was characterized by XRD, FTIR and SEM. For synthesized graphene oxide the maximum removal percentage for 50 mg/L initial concentration of Tricyclazole in optimized condition (pH = 6.2, sorbent dosage = 50 mg, contact time = 30 min) was obtained 66%. The kinetic experimental data by the pseudo-second-order model is well described. The thermodynamic studies indicated that the adsorption of Tricyclazole on graphene oxide is spontaneous and exothermic in naturally. Based on this study, it can be concluded that graphene oxide nano-particles is a very suitable sorbent for removal of Tricyclazole from aqueous solution.
