Dyes and pigments are used in textiles dyeing. That is why these industries produce large quantities of wastewater containing dyes. Discharge of untreated wastewater containing dyes or inadequate treatment can cause disturbances in the environment. Colors in drinking water not only for their appearance should be removed, but also because these colors are harmful and can produce carcinogenic origin compounds, they are dangerous. Removal of direct black 22 from aqueous solution were studied in a closed system by using CS-m- MWCNTs nanocomposite. The effect of important parameters such as adsorbent, pH and initial concentration of dye was investigated. The results showed that the efficiency of CS-m-MWCNTs nanocomposite for the removal of the desired compound was relatively high. The results also shows that a rapid equilibration is achieved at pH = 5 for CS-m-MWCNTs. The sorption efficiency decreases with increasing the initial dye concentration and also decreases with decreasing the adsorbent dosage. The adsorption isotherm studies clearly indicate that the adsorption process occur on surface of CS-m-MWCNTs and fits into the Freundlich model.
