Abstract The capture and storage of carbon dioxide has been identified as one potential solution to greenhouse gas driven climate change. A developing technology is membrane gas separation, which is more compact, energy efficient and possibly more economical than mature technologies, such as solvent absorption. Poly vinyl chloride/multi wall carbon nano tubes (PVC/MWCNTs) nanocomposite membranes (NCMs) were prepared for gas separation. functionalized MWCNTs (OH-MWCNTs) was utilized in membranes preparation. Gas permeation and transport characteristics of single gases for CO2 and N2 were investigated and analyzed using constant pressure method. The as-prepared PVC/MWCNTs was characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM). Trans-membrane temperature were varied from 298.15-308.15 K. The temperature dependency of permeability for both CO2 and N2 was increased with an increase in temperature.
