This paper deals with an advanced exergy analysis and optimization of a multi-generation cycle. The endogenous/exogenous exergy destruction parts of each component as well as their combinations with avoidable/unavoidable parts are determined. A parametric study is carried out to assess the sensitivity of total avoidable exergy destruction. Parametric results reveal that the increment of and P4 have a positive effect on the overall system because the total real exergy destruction and unavoidable part reduce. It is concluded that the increment of pressure has a negative effect on the components owing to the increase of real and unavoidable part of exergy destruction rate. In addition, the increase of TL3 has a positive effect on the avoidable part which provides the possibility of improvement by reducing the irreversibilities.
