In this paper an explanation of Digital Image Correlation method and its abilities is performed and the basic principle of Digital Image Correlation for measuring surface displacement is described. In the following Digital Image Correlation usage has been explained. It has been showed that the displacement components on the surface of an object are easily obtained using this method by recording the images of the surface before and after deformation and other parameters such as stress and strain can be studied by measuring displacement under mechanical loads. Surface of the part should be divided to many subsets in Digital Image Correlation method to measure displacement. A high speed camera captures many frames in second from loaded part. Displacement is measured with comparison between images before and after of loading of part and some mathematical calculations.
