The effect of processing parameters such as cutting depth, spindle speed, nose radius and feed rate on the dimensional accuracy of hardened VCN150 (AISI4340) steel has been studied during the dry hard turning operation using CBN inserts. The experimental results revealed that spindle speed and nose radius respectively, have the greatest effect on the dimensional accuracy, while feed rate and cutting depth have no remarkable effect. It was also observed that at 0.25 mm cutting depth, 0.4 mm nose radius, 0.08 mm/rev feed rate, and 500 rpm spindle speed, the best dimensional accuracy is achieved in the dry hard turning operation. “
