In this paper, a mathematical approach is utilized so as to model the flame structure of organic dust particles (Lycopodium). One-dimensional flame propagation in cloud of fuel mixture is analyzed in which flame structure is divided into preheat, reaction and post-flame zones. Non-zero Biot number is used in order to study the effect of particles thermal resistance on flame characteristics. Also, effect of particles size on combustion of organic dust is investigated. It is understood that both burning velocity and flame temperature decrease with rise in the Biot number and particles size. The analytical results were compared to experimental ones and reasonable agreement was observed.
