Sensitivity Analysis on energy dissipation in granular medium Using simple SDOF model

In this paper, an SDOF system was used to analogy with a complicated granular medium, in order to investigate sensitivity of energy dissipation to the friction coefficient and damping ratio of particles in a granular medium. The granular medium consists of many spherical particles. The medium is subjected to sinusoidal vibrations and the energy dissipated is calculated using the area of hysteresis loop. The comparison of sensitivity analysis between the simulated SDOF model and other works has been mentioned. Other research is based on DEM or experiment the results show a good agreement and returns similar results at some cases.
