Li-ion Batteries have been extensively used in many home and industrial applications. In these batteries the charging and discharging are carried out by lithiation and delithiation. Li-ions insertion causes a volumetric change and so stresses and strains are induced. In this research a beam electrode in charging and discharging is considered. During the lithiation the ion concentration is given as a function of time. Then the strains and stress are determined. The important induced stresses and strains cause plastic deformation. So, the kinematic hardening model of Prager was supposed. The numerical method of return mapping is used to obtain plastic strain and stresses in the electrode.
