A novel color image encryption algorithm based on DNA sequence operation, and hyper-chaotic system is proposed. The design of the proposed algorithm is simple and efficient, and based on four phases, which provide the necessary properties for a secure image encryption algorithm, including the confusion and diffusion properties. In phase I, the color image and image key are put into binary matrices and two DNA sequencing matrices are obtained by encoding the declarations. In phases II two chaotic sequences through Chen s hyper-Chaotic system under the limited conditions for initial values are generated. In phase III, the algorithm XORs the scrambled DNA matrix and the random DNA matrix based on DNA sequence addition operation. And in the last phase, decoding the DNA sequence matrix, we will get the encrypted image. The simulation experimental results and security analysis show that our algorithm not only has good encryption effect, but also has the ability of resisting exhaustive attack and statistical attack
