Due to the high electric energy consumption in urban railway systems, energy saving can considerably affect the cost reduction. Therefore, numerous studies have been performed in this area, one of which has been speed profile optimization. In this paper, we try to present an optimization method with two objective functions, net energy and travelling time in an interstation distance. Our aim is to obtain an energy-time Pareto front for a single train, between two successive stations, and to compromise between the two objectives mentioned above, as well as addressing the operational constraints. It is shown that the rate variations of regenerative energy recovery has an influence on optimization results. Eventually, the simulation results of line 1 Mashhad urban railway are used to demonstrate the validity of the method
