In this paper, we study the secrecy outage performance of selection combining (SC) diversity model for amplifyand- forward (AF) relay assisted device-to-device (D2D) communications underlaying the legacy cellular network (CN). In our model, D2D pair wants to reuse the cellular spectrum for their own transmission while an adversary is eavesdropping on the information transmission between D2D transmitter (DT) and D2D receiver (DR). We assume that D2D pair makes use of an AF relay for improving its transmission secrecy performance. While, DR uses the SC scheme and chooses between the signals received from the relay link and the direct link, the eavesdropper only listens to the signal transmitted from the DT. We obtain the exact expression for the lower bound on the secrecy outage probability (SOP) of the system. Finally, using simulations, we study the performance behavior of SC scheme and compair the result with non-cooperative case for various system parameters.
