Wireless mesh network is significant technology for providing broadband communications services. With this application, throughput improvement, balancing and robustness against failures are the main challenges of designing this type of network. In this paper, a comprehensive cross layer framework has been proposed for the optimal topology control where different tools such as power control, rate adaptation, scheduling, channel assignment and routing tools are used to achieve these goals. Additionally, given the issue is time-consuming, a heuristic method is presented to reduce the computational complexity. Our Simulation results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method compared to the same works as well as the capability of the heuristic method in achieving near-optimal solutions.
