A design of a compact multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna with a small size of 36 × 72 mm2 for multiband applications is introduced. The presented MIMO antenna includes of two similar antenna elements. Each element has a planar radiator with microstrip-feed and an asymmetrical truncated rectangular ground plane. The designed triple-band antenna is formed by employing meander line stubs with different lengths. The measured impedance bandwidth for l0 dB return loss is distributed in frequency ranges of 2.33-2.82 GHz (19.6%), 3.68-4.31 GHz (16.1%), and 5.73-6.48 GHz (12.01%) which is respectively able to covering Bluetooth/WiBro/WiMax/ LTE/WLAN, LTE/C-band/FS/FSS, and WiMax/WLAN applications. The antenna elements are located asymmetrically to gain a high isolation and low envelope correlation between the two input ports.
