In this study, an analytical procedure was investigated for selective extraction and detection of ibuprofen (IBU) by using of molecularly imprinted polymer on the surface of magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs). The magnetic sorbent was prepared on the surface of Fe3O4 nanoparticles by polymerization of methacrylic acid (MAA) in the presence of IBU as template molecule and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as cross-linker [1]. The resulting magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer (MMIP) has showed high adsorption capacity, proper selectivity and fast kinetic binding for template and was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) methods [2]. The method was also developed for the analysis of IBU in aqueous and urine samples [3]. The limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were 0.04 and 0.1. The calibration graph was linear in the range 0.1-50 mgL-1.
