Heavy metals occur in the environment special aquatic ecosystems. They may be enter in food chain and can affect human and animals health. Heavy metals such cadmium and lead are the most common pollutants such high concentrations and cause damage to the liquid environment, so it is necessary to monitor sensitive aquatic environments [1].This Study Was Carried Out to evaluate the concentration of heavy metals (Cd, Pb) in the edible tissues of Mullet Liza Klunzingeri in Bandar Abbas, Qeshm Island and Minab areas from the northern part of the Persian Gulf. Liza subviridis species of Mugilidae family is distributed in the southeast Pacific and India. It also exists in the Persian Gulf. The local name of this fish is Garryz. This fish is one of the most important economic species in Persian Gulf. Moreover, the influences of seasons (winter and summer) on the Pb and Cd concentrations in Liza Klunzingeri were investigated. Then, the metals (Cd, Pb) concentrations in muscle were compared with standards. Samples were collected in summer 2016 and winter 2017. After preparation and parting of muscle tissue of Liza Klunzingeri, the concentration of heavy metals (Cd, Pb) were analyzed using atomic absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS). The Results obtained for the concentration of heavy metals (Cd, Pb) in muscle of L.Klunzingeri showed that, there were significant differences between winter and summer seasons (p 0.05). The results of the present study showed that, seasons (winter and summer), can influence the concentration of Cd and Pb. T-TEST Showed that the concentrations of heavy metals in all three areas in summer is higher than winter. The results show that the mean concentrations for lead was lower compare to international standards in all three areas, this means that the lead does not threaten our lives. The average concentrations of cadmium in the muscle tissue (In the summer in all three areas and in winter only in Minab area) proved to be higher than international standards (NHMRC, EC). It is recommended not to use these fish due to the toxicity and high levels of cadmium in their muscle tissues especially in summer.
