In this work, a novel conducting polymer nanocomposites of poly 2-methoxy anilne(P2MA)/TiO2 (P2MA/TiO2) by in situ electropolymerization was synthesised on glassy carbon electrode. The morphological analyses of P2MA and nanocomposite films have been characterized by cyclic voltammetry, Fourier transform infra-red (FTIR) spectroscopy, UV–Visible, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction. The effects of different dopants such as sulfuric acid, perchloric acid and oxalic acid were investigated on the conductivity and size of synthesized nanocomposites. The differences between cathodic and anodic peaks of redox couples were obtained for P2MA/TiO2 nanocomposite films[1]. During cathodic and anodic scans, the shift of potential was observed for polymer nanocomposite films[1]. These observed effects have been attributed to interaction of TiO2, nanoparticles with P2MA molecular chains. Significant differences from in situ resistivity of P2MA and nanocomposite films were obtained. The resistance of P2MA/TiO2 films were found to be smaller than the P2MA film. The nanocomposites SEM micrographs suggest that the TiO2 nanoparticles were incorporated in organic conducting polymer, which consequently modifies the morphology of the films significantly.
