Utilizing Mobile Health method to Emergency Nurses’ Satisfaction About Emergency Severity Index [ESI] Triage

Background: Electronic learning has the potential to revolutionize the role of educators by empowering nurses to take more responsibility for their own learning. So this study was designed to examine the effect of Mobile Health method to Emergency Nurses’ satisfaction about Emergency Severity Index [ESI] Triage. Materials and Method: A two group’s pool blind quasi-experimental study was performed on Emergency ward nurses working in hospitals affiliated with Isfahan University of Medical Sciences (IUMS). The study was conducted since Sep to nov 2015. Sample size was calculated as 35 subjects in each group (a total of 70 subjects). Participants were divided into two groups of Electronic learning and workshop, randomly. Participants’ satisfaction score were collected before and after intervention. SPSS version 16 was used to conduct statistical tests such as independent t-test and paired t-test for analyzing the data with the significant level less than 0.05. Results: The results showed that there was not any significant difference between the satisfaction scores of Electronic learning and work shop group before intervention, but there was a significant difference after two weeks intervention ( P=0.032). Conclusion: The electronic program especially based on mobile was an attractive and active education method for emergency nurses because in these method educators by empowering nurses to take more responsibility for their own learning. So it is suggested that Electronic learning is used by authorities along with routine training, due to its less cost and spending less time.
