upressus arizonica Greene (cupressaceae),the Arizona cypress, is a species native to the south –western united states.[1] Terpenes are the most functionally and structurally diverse group of plant secondary metabolites. They are thought to play a pivotal role in essential physiological and biological processes such as respiration,photo synthesis and regulation of growth develepment.[2] In this research work, first we collected the fruits of cupressus tree. Then crushed weight 100 gr of them to distillation of steam 100 mL of distillated of collect and extractin with ether. The solvent dried with Na2SO4 and evaporated. The yiled is 0.5 % , and reside was characterized with FT-IR and GC-Mass spectroscopy.
