Perlite perchloric acid (Perlite-HClO4 (Pe-PA)) has been synthesized and characterized by FT-IR, XRD, SEM, TGA, pH analysis and Hammett acidity. A simple, highly efficient and green procedure for the condensation of aryl and alkyl 1,2-diamines with α-diketones in the presence of Perlite perchloric acid as novel and reusable heterogeneous catalyst at room temperature, is described. This method is a combination of a satisfactory synthesis and more significantly easy product isolation and purification. Using this method, quinoxaline derivatives as biologically interesting compounds are produced in high to excellent yields
