Alumina-supported desulfurization catalysts are vastly consumed in various refining processes. Therefore, the end price and industrial preparation technique of the catalyst is highly important. In this work, boehmite was synthesized by reacting Al(NO3)3.9H2O and ammonia. The boehmite powder was used as a support for active metals such as Co and Mo. Two impregnation methods, including consecutive dry impregnation (two-stage) and wet impregnation (single-stage), were applied to deposit the active metals onto the extruded γ-Alumina support. Characterization tests such as XRF, BET, XRD, and catatest were performed to evaluate the structural properties and catalytic performance of the products obtained from these methods.
