Silicon nanowires have prepared from powder source by metal assisted chemical etching method. The metal nanoparticles that used were silver nanoparticles. Then this substrate was dissolved in copper nitrate solution to decorate copper nanoparticles on the surface of nanowires. Non noble metal, copper nanoparticles with controlled size and surface by a simple galvanic displacement reaction has been decorated. This prepared catalyst analysed by X-ray diffraction and SEM image. This compound employed as a catalyst for reduction of 4-Nitrophenol to 4-Aminophenol.
